The Graston Technique

The Graston Technique combines massage therapy and specialized instruments to promote better limb mobility. Dr. Pete Lazarnick “Dr. Pete” in Carrollton, GA is proud to practice this technique in an effort to help patients who struggle with the full range of their mobility.

The instruments, which have rounded edges and are not sharp, help identify areas of restricted mobility. They are also used to gently scrape the skin to break up areas with scar tissue, which is then absorbed back into the body. With the incorporation of stretches, strength exercises and ice, doctors can rebuild scar tissue into functioning tissue once again. The treated area may feel sore, bruised, or red dots called petechiae may form. It is recommended that ice is applied to the area if there is discomfort. Exercising and stretching are known to help with discomfort as well.

The Graston Technique is used in treating:
